Frequently asked questions
General
Watch It is a private, association-led coordination platform for residential communities in Kenya. It helps residents raise concerns, helps estate coordinators organise appropriate, bounded follow-up, and keeps an accountable record of what happened. It is not an emergency service.
No. Watch It is a private coordination platform. It does not replace police, ambulance, fire, or any official emergency service. If you are in immediate danger or need emergency assistance, call 999 or 112. Watch It helps residents raise concerns and coordinate follow-up through their estate or association — it is not an emergency response system.
Not yet. The core coordination workflows are developed, and hosted pilot activation is being prepared with participating estates. Mobile activation and real-device acceptance are still pending. You can register your interest to hear when Watch It launches in your neighbourhood.
No. Watch It does not guarantee that anyone will respond, and it does not guarantee a response time. It helps coordinate approved participants where they are available, within the association’s governance. For life-threatening emergencies, call 999 or 112.
Residents
Residents can record everyday neighbourhood concerns — for example noise or disturbance, safety concerns, or unauthorised construction or land-use concerns — with a timestamp and context. Watch It is for coordination and record-keeping, not for emergencies.
The concern is shared privately with your estate or association’s coordination, which may acknowledge it and organise appropriate, bounded follow-up. You can see clear status updates as things progress. Recording a concern does not establish that anyone has done anything wrong.
Access is limited by role and purpose. Watch It does not create public records and does not continuously track residents. Your information is shared only with the approved participants involved in coordinating your concern, under your association’s governance and applicable data-protection requirements.
No. A report does not establish wrongdoing. Watch It records what was raised and coordinates follow-up; it does not make findings of fact, assign blame, or carry any law-enforcement authority. Only the appropriate official authorities can investigate or determine an offence.
Estates
Estates and residents’ associations can register their interest for the hosted pilot, which is being prepared. Participation is arranged with each association and is not guaranteed; availability depends on pilot readiness.
Only people the association has authorised as coordinators, within governed, bounded permissions. Coordination authority is granted — and can be revoked — by the association; it is never automatic and never open to anyone.
Yes. Associations govern their own membership and decide which responders are eligible to be involved, within Watch It’s governed controls. Eligibility is association-led and bounded, not something responders grant themselves.
Responders & security providers
Approved responders, and governed security-provider partnerships, can be involved only where an association has made them eligible. They acknowledge approved, bounded support tasks. Watch It does not employ responders or direct security operations.
No. Assigning and accepting support tasks is governed and bounded: only authorised coordinators may assign a task, and only eligible, approved responders may accept one, within the association’s controls. Authority is never open to anyone.
No. Fleet and asset operations are planned, not built. Today Watch It focuses on governed coordination and accountable records; provider fleet and asset features are a future product direction.
