Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-06

Watch It is not an emergency service. For police, ambulance or fire emergencies, call 999 or 112. Do not use this website to report an emergency or to share urgent incident information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Watch It handles the limited personal information you may provide through this launch-stage website at watchit.co.ke. Watch It is operated by PDAI GROUP (“Watch It”, “we”, “us”, “our”), based in Nairobi, Kenya. At this stage the website’s only interactive feature is a launch-interest form; the Watch It applications are still in development and are not yet open to the public.

1. Information we collect

Through this website we collect only what you choose to give us and a small amount of technical data needed to run the site securely:

  • Launch-interest details — your email address (required) and, if you choose, an optional interest category (for example, resident, estate or residents’ association, security provider, responder, potential partner, or other).
  • Consent record — the fact that you gave launch-update consent, the date and time of that consent, and the version of this Privacy Policy in effect at the time.
  • Limited technical data — standard server information such as your IP address and request metadata, used only to operate the site, prevent abuse and apply basic rate limiting.

We do not collect your name, telephone number, precise location, incident details, identification documents or any special-category (sensitive) information through this website.

2. Purposes and lawful bases

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Your consent — to send you Watch It launch updates. You can withdraw this consent at any time (see “Unsubscribe requests”).
  • Our legitimate interests — to understand the level and type of interest in Watch It, to keep the website secure, and to prevent spam and abuse. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.

3. Service providers

We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate the website and store launch-interest records — for example, cloud hosting and database infrastructure, and, when launch communications begin, an email-delivery provider. These providers act as our processors, may access personal data only to provide their service to us, and are bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

4. International processing

Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside Kenya. Where personal data is transferred outside Kenya, we take steps to ensure it continues to receive an appropriate level of protection consistent with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, including through appropriate contractual safeguards with our providers.

5. Retention

We keep launch-interest details only for as long as needed for the launch programme, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them — whichever comes first. When your information is no longer needed we securely delete it. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending updates and keep your email only in a suppressed form, for as long as reasonably necessary to honour your do-not-contact request; if you later register again and give consent, we reactivate it. If you ask us to erase your data, we delete your launch-interest record entirely, unless we are legally required to retain it. Limited security and server logs are kept only for a short period for abuse prevention and diagnostics.

6. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the limited data we hold. Information is transmitted over encrypted connections, access is restricted on a least-privilege basis, and launch-interest records are stored in a database that denies direct public access by default and is written only through a controlled, validated server-side path.

7. Your rights

Subject to the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your personal data is used;
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete your data (“erasure”);
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
  • withdraw your consent at any time; and
  • request that your data be provided in a portable format, where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@watchit.co.ke. When you ask us to erase your data, we delete your launch-interest record entirely, unless we are legally required to retain it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) of Kenya.

8. Unsubscribe requests

You can withdraw your consent and stop receiving launch updates at any time. Every launch email we send will include an unsubscribe option, and you can also email info@watchit.co.ke at any time to be removed. Once you unsubscribe we stop sending updates and keep your email only in a suppressed form for as long as needed to honour that choice; if you later choose to register again and give consent, we will reactivate it. If you ask us never to contact you again, we honour that and will not reactivate your address from a later form submission.

9. Children

This website and the launch-interest form are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Cookies and analytics

At this launch stage the website does not use non-essential cookies and does not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. If we introduce analytics or additional cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

11. Emergency-information warning

Official emergency services remain available. For police, ambulance or fire emergencies, always call 999 or 112.
